Matthew Morrison Joins Cast of As the World Turns

Tony Award nominee Matthew Morrison has joined the cast of the CBS soap opera As the World Turns in the contract role of Adam Munson. His first appearance in the show will air on October 24.

He is the fourth actor to play the role. The character — the biological son of Margo Montgomery (Ellen Dolan) and Hal Munson (the late Benjamin Hendrickson) and the adopted son of Tom Hughes (Scott Holmes) — was actually born in 1988 but was aged an additional four years in 1992. There is no word yet on what Morrison’s storyline will be.

Morrison received a Tony nomination for his peformance as Fabrizio in The Light in the Piazza. His other Broadway credits include Hairspray (in which he originated the role of Link Larkin), A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, Footloose, and The Rocky Horror Show. He also starred in the ABC-TV remake of Once Upon a Mattress.
