Julie Harris to Be Honored at Primary Stages Gala

Julie Harris will be honored at the Primary Stages 22nd Anniversary Gala Benefit, to take place at 6:30pm on Monday, November 6 at Tavern on the Green.

The gala evening will include testimonials by Anne Jackson and Eli Wallach, Elizabeth Wilson, and Marian Seldes; clips from Harris’ film work; and a scene and musical number from The Member of the Wedding starring Ruby Dee, Gregg Edelman, and Marin Ireland. Other celebrities expected to attend the event include Tyne Daly, Charles Grodin, Marilyn Horne, Jack Klugman, and Terrence McNally.

Harris is the most honored performer in Tony Awards history with 10 nominations and five wins; she took home the statuette for I Am a Camera, The Lark, Forty Carats, The Last of Mrs. Lincoln, and The Belle of Amherst.
Her extensive film and television credits include The Member of the Wedding, East of Eden, and Knots Landing.
