Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Transport Group’s All the Way Home

Barbara Andres, Patrick Boll, John Braden, Alice Cannon, Corinne Edgerly, Chandler Frantz, Patrick Gilbert, Joseph Kolinski, Michael Lewis, Tom Ligon, Ben Masur, Joanna Parson, Monica Russell, Irma St. Paule, and Letty Serra make will appear in Transport Group’s revival of Tad Mosel’s All the Way Home, October 26- November 18 at the Connelly Theatre. Directed by Jack. Cummings III, the show will open officially on November 5.

Based on James Agee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel A Death in the Family, the play focuses on a Tennessee woman who must cope with the sudden loss of her husband and the necessity of raising their children alone. Mosel won the Pulitzer Prize for the work and also received the New York Drama Circle Critics Award for Best Play. He won a 1977 Emmy Award for his work on the PBS series The Adams Chronicles.

All the Way Home was originally produced on Broadway in 1960, starring Lillian Gish, Arthur Hill, and Colleen Dewhurst. The film version, released in 1963, stars Jean Simmons, Robert Preston, Pat Hingle, and John Cullum. In addition, there were TV adaptations in 1971 (starring Joanne Woodward, Richard Kiley, and Eileen Heckart) and 1981 (starring Sally Field and William Hurt).

The creative team for the Transport Group production includes Sandra Goldmark (sets), Shana Albery and Kathryn Rohe (costumes), R. Lee Kennedy (lighting), Ellen Weiss (original music), and Lanny Meyers (music supervision). Cummings, who is the company’s artistic director, received a Drama Desk Award nomination for his work on The Audience.
