Christian Campbell Joins Kathleen Chalfant in Cast of Great Expectations

Christian Campbell will play Pip opposite the Miss Havisham of Kathleen Chalfant in Theaterworks’ presentation of Bathsheba Doran’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations, November 8-December 3 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Directed by Will Pomerantz, the show will open officially on November 16.

The cast also includes Kenneth Boys (Pumblechook), Kristen Bush (Estella), Emily Donahoe (Biddy), John Joseph Gallagher (Magwich), and Paul Niebanck (Joe). The production team is headed by Carol Bailey (set and costume design), Lenore Doxsee (lighting), Eric Shim (sound design), and Michael Picton (incidental music).

Campbell has performed on stage in such shows as tick…tick…BOOM!, Reefer Madness, and Drift. His film and television credits include Trick, The Book of Daniel, and All My Children.

Chalfant is the winner of the Obie Award for Sustained Excellence, the Lucille Lortel’s Edith Oliver Award, as well the Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Drama League, and Los Angeles Ovation Awards. Among her many stage credits are Angels in America, Wit, Talking Heads, and Nine Armenians.
