Butler, Burton, Gets, Irwin, Rees, et al. to Salute Stoppard at WTF Gala

Catherine Brunell, Kerry Butler, Kate Burton, Matt Cavenaugh, Nikki Renée Daniels, Malcolm Gets, Bill Irwin, and Roger Rees are among the performers who will help salute Sir Tom Stoppard at the Williamstown Theatre Festival’s gala 2006 benefit, to be held on Monday, November 13 at the Puck Building (295 Lafayette Street). Joanne Woodward will be the gala’s honorary chairperson; Marge Champion, Blythe Danner, Dana Ivey, Bebe Neuwirth, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ann Reinking, and Kathleen Turner are among the honorary co-chairs.

Stoppard’s new trilogy of plays, The Coast of Utopia, begins performances at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theatre on October 17. A Tony Award winnner for The Real Thing, Travesties, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and a Tony nominee for The Invention of Love and Arcadia, Stoppard received an Academy Award for the screenplay of Shakespeare In Love and a nomination for Brazil.
