Busch, McElroy to Guest Star With NYC Gay Men’s Chorus

Tony Award nominees Charles Busch and Michael McElroy will guest star in The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus Holiday Spectacular, to be held on Monday, December 11 at Carnegie Hall, beginning at 8pm. The show will also feature the first appearanceof the chorus’ all-male kickline, The MENhattans, and a special performance by the Big Apple Performing Arts’ Youth Pride Chorus.

Busch received a Tony nomination for writing The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. He has appeared in his plays Red Scare on Sunset, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Shanghai Moon, etc., and in the films Psycho Beach Party and Die Mommie Die, which he also scripted. McElroy received a Tony nomination for his performance in Big River. His other Broadway credits include Rent, The Wild Party, and Miss Saigon, and he is the founder of the Broadway Inspirational Voices.

In related news, Uptown Express, a group composed of NYCGMC members, will present a holiday concert titled Seasons of Love at 8pm on November 29 and 30 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Café (407 West 42nd Street). Broadway star Karen Mason will be the group’s special guest on the 29th, and Richard Skipper will appear on the 30th.
