A week-long series of events including an area-wide talent contest, a book signing, and a block party will help celebrate the second anniversary of the Broadway musical Wicked, which opened on October 30, 2003.

Signings of the new book Wicked: The Grimmerie, written by theater critic David Cote and featuring photographs by Joan Marcus, will be held on Monday, October 24 at 5pm at Borders in the Time Warner Center (10 Columbus Circle) and on Friday, October 28 at 4pm at the NBC Experience Store in Rockefeller Center. Cote, Marcus, and members of the show’s cast and creative team will be on hand.

The “Wicked Block Party” will be held on October 30 from 10am to 1pm in front of the Gershwin Theatre. The blow-out bash will feature face-painting, games, refreshments, and the finals of the “Be Wicked” Singing Contest, to be judged by stars Shoshana Bean and Megan Hilty, Miss USA Chelsea Cooley, and casting director Bernard Telsey.
