Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone in the first season of the hit ABC drama Lost, has joined Eliza Dushku, America Ferrara, Ari Graynor, Logan Marshall-Green, Keith Nobbs, and Eddie Kaye Thomas in the cast of Bert V. Royal’s Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. Directed by Trip Cullman, the show is scheduled to begin performances at the Century Center for the Performing Arts on November 30 and to open officially on December 15.

Somerhalder has replaced Michael Rady in the role of Matt, a homophobic quaterback. His previous credits include the TV series Young Americans and Smallville, and the film The Rules of Attraction. He will soon be seen on the big screen in TV: The Movie and Pulse.

An “unauthorized parody” of the famous Peanuts comic strip, Dog Sees God concerns a character called CB, his drama-queen little sister, his pyromaniac ex-girlfriend, an abused pianist, two drunk cheerleaders, and a burnt-out Buddhist. The play won the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival’s Excellence Award for Best Overall Production.

The Century Center production will feature scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Jenny Mannis, sound design by Darron L. West, and lighting design by Brian MacDevitt. Cullman’s directing credits include Swimming in the Shallows and The Last Sunday in June.
