Josh Hamilton and Mary Stuart Masterson will star in a staged reading of French playwright Jean-Marie Besset’s Commentaire D’Amour at Florence Gould Hall (55 East 59th Street), November 11-13. The reading is part of the ongoing Act French Festival.

Besset’s play illuminates a generation’s angst over sexual identity, fidelity, and the possibility of happiness. Hamilton was most recently seen on stage in the New Group’s acclaimed production of Hurlyburly. Masterson starred on Broadway in the recent revival of Nine, for which she received both Tony Award and Drama Desk nominations for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.

Other upcoming offerings in the Act French Festival include French film star Isabelle Huppert making her New York stage debut in Sarah Kane’s 4:48 Psychose at BAM (October 19-30), the continuing series of Carte Blanche dialogues, featuring such international talents as Robert Wilson and Elizabeth LeCompte (October 24-December 11); The Jose Pliya Project, celebrating the acclaimed African-born French playwright, at the Ohio Theater (November 1-6); and the Off-Broadway premiere of Marie Ndiaye’s Hilda at 59E59 Theaters (November 11-December 11).
