Reportedly sold-out for its entire run, the Broadway revival of The Odd Couple opened last night at the Brooks Atkinson Theater, and the company and their friends partied afterwards at the Marriot Marquis. Here are the odd couple themselves: Matthew Broderick (Felix Ungar) and Nathan Lane (Oscar Madison).
Also celebrating were the odd couple’s poker buddies: Brad Garrett (Murray the cop)…
…Rob Bartlett (Speed)…
…Peter Frechette (Roy)…
…and Lee Wilkof (Vinnie).
Also partying at the Marriott: Sarah Jessica Parker, a.k.a. Mrs. Matthew Broderick…
…the very funny, extraordinarily wealthy Jerry Seinfeld…
…the legendary costume and fashion designer Bob Mackie…
…Elizabeth Parkinson and husband Scott Wise, from the cast of Movin’ Out…
…Marc Shaiman, composer and co-lyricist of Hairspray…
…and Neil Simon, author of The Odd Couple and at least a dozen other great Broadway comedies, seen here with his wife, Elaine Joyce…
Among the many celebrities who attended the opening performance of The Odd Couple: TV, film, and Broadway star Martin Short…
…Tina Brown, former editor of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker…
…Doris Roberts, who co-starred with Brad Garrett in the tremendously popular TV sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond…
…and Carole Shelley, who played Gwendolyn Pigeon in both the original Broadway production and the movie version of The Odd Couple.
