Deven May Heads Cast of DogMusic

Deven May, Kay Walbye, Sarah Dacey Charles, Miguel Cervantes, and Ryan Hilliard will star in the Amas Musical Theater workshop production of the new musical Dog Music, October 20-22 at the Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street).

The show, about five dogs in a local pound who are working out the puzzles of their existence, features book and lyrics by Mark Masi and music by Jess Platt. The production is being directed by Alex Lippard, who is currently represented by the Off-Broadway revival of Tis Pity She’s a Whore. Andrew Gerle is the musical director.

May played the title role in the Off-Broadway production of Bat Boy and was recently seen in the NYMF presentation of The Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde. Walbye’s Broadway credits include The Secret Garden, Urinetown, and Titanic. Charles appeared on Broadway in Les Misérables. Cervantes starred in the Off-Broadway musical Cam Jansen, and Hilliard appeared in the original Off-Broadway production of Godspell.
