MacDermot to Conduct Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Guggenheim

Composer Galt MacDermot will conduct a newly arranged concert version of his 1971 Tony Award-winning musical Two Gentlemen of Verona, a Shakespearean adaptation with lyrics by John Guare, for two performances on November 21 and 22 at the Guggenheim Museum, located at Fifth Avenue and 89th Street in Manhattan.

The cast of the concert will include Luther Creek, David Damane, Suzanne Griffith, Catrice Joseph Hart, Larry Marshall, Chris Monteleone and Melanie Po. Guare and MacDermot will participate in a panel discussion following the performances, both of which will begin at 8pm.


The event is part of the Works & Process program instituted at the Guggenheim in 1984 by Mary Sharp Cronson. Tickets for the concert are $20 general admission, $15 for Guggenheim members, students, and seniors; supporting associates and patrons circle members who reserve in advance are entitled to free admission.
