The eighth annual Genie Awards will be presented to Rob Marshall, director and choreographer of the blockbuster hit movie musical Chicago and choreographer/co-director of the long running revival of Cabaret, and to producer Ted Snowdon (Twilight of the Golds, The Last Sunday in June) in a ceremony at the Tribeca Rooftop, 2 Desbrosses Street, on Monday, November 10.

The awards are presented annually by the Genesius Theatre Guild to honor members of the performing arts community who have made extraordinary contributions. Snowdon will also receive the first Donald Farber Award, earmarked for presentation to a person who “makes an art out of the business of the theatre.”

The November 10 event will feature an auction (to be presided over by Kim Cea and Mitchell Olson) and live entertainment (to be directed by Kathleen Marshall, sister of Rob). Among those scheduled to appear are Sandy Duncan, Debra Monk, and Diane Sutherland.

The evening wear/black tie optional awards ceremony will start at 6:30pm. Individual tickets begin at $200, with 10-person tables available beginning at $2,000. To purchase tickets or to obtain additional information, call the Genesius Theatre Guild at 212-244-5404.
