Herb Gardner Memorial Set for October 28

The life of playwright Herb Gardner, who died on September 24 of lung disease at age 68, will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 28 at noon at the Booth Theatre.

Gardner’s works for the stage include A Thousand Clowns and I’m Not Rappaport (both of which were recently revived on Broadway), as well as The Goodbye People, Thieves, and Conversations With My Father. He adapted his short story “Who Is Harry Kellerman and Why Is He Saying Those Terrible Things About Me?” for film in 1971.

The October 28 memorial will be open to the public. The Booth Theatre is located at 222 West 45th Street, between Broadway and Eigth Avenue.
