The 2013 New York Musical Festival's Next Broadway Sensation Competition returns for its eighth year beginning Friday, September 27, at New World Stages. Out of a group of 200 performers, only 20 semifinalists will compete in two sections.

Judges this year include Tony Award-winning actress Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), composer Ryan Scott Oliver (35MM), producer Jamie Cesa, Michael Kerker, Michael Cassara, and Di Glazer. In addition to casting votes, the judging panel will also offer performance advice to the contestants after they perform.

Eight finalists will compete for the title of NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation, and the winner will receive a special solo concert, copresented by NYFM and Grammy Award-winning producer Sh-K-Boom Records. This year, NYMF will also partner with The ASCAP Foundation to present a showcase featuring all finalists performing the works of contemporary musical-theater composers.
