From Breakfast at Katz’s to Posing With Elmo, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart Are Sirs About Town

The pair stars on Broadway this fall in Waiting for Godot and No Man’s Land.

Sirs Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are men about town. Literally. They’ve been spotted all over New York City today (September 13), presumably doing promotional work for their upcoming Broadway returns in Waiting for Godot and No Man’s Land at the Cort Theatre this fall. According to one Tweeter, they had breakfast at the famed Katz’s Delicatessen, and were later spotted jumping “out of a black suv” to “take a photo on a pile of trash in Soho” [sic].

While there’s no photographic proof of this yet, there is this great shot of the pair posing with Elmo in Times Square. We just want to imagine that Stewart handed his smartphone to an unsuspecting passerby and asked him or her to take their picture.
