Universal Pictures has announced that it will move up the release date of director Jason Moore's Pitch Perfect film, for a limited release on September 28, according to Deadline.com.
Pitch Perfect tells the story of Fat Amy, a member of the female a cappella group Divisi, as the group goes head to head against a counterpart from the male group known as the Treblemakers.
Originally scheduled for an October 5 release date, Universal has decided on the September 28 limited release in order to build word of mouth.
Moore received a Tony nomination for his direction of Avenue Q, and a Drama Desk nomination for directing Shrek the Musical.
