Ron Raines to Join Broadway’s Newsies

Ron Raines is set to join the cast of Newsies in the role of Joseph Pulitzer beginning October 9 at the Nederlander Theatre. He will perform the role through December 16, as cast member John Dossett appears in the Public Theater’s production of Giant.
With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein, Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life far from the hardship of the streets.
Raines was most recently seen in the Broadway revival of Follies, for which he received a Tony Award-nomination. He is perhaps best known for his three-time Emmy nominated performance on the soap opera Guiding Light.
