Michael Gore, Marin Mazzie, Dean Pitchford, Molly Ranson Set for Carrie: The Musical Album Signing

Marin Mazzie, Molly Ranson, and cast members from the MCC Theater production of Carrie: The Musical will celebrate the release of the show’s Premiere Cast Recording with a performance and CD signing at the 86th Street Barnes and Noble on September 25 at 5pm.

Mazzie and Ranson, who played mother and daughter Margaret and Carrie White, will be joined by composers Michael Gore and Dean Pitchford, book writer Lawrence D. Cohen, and cast members Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, Ben Thompson, F. Michael Haynie, Andy Mientus, Elly Noble, and Jen Sese.

The new recording is executive produced by Kurt Deutsch, and will be released on September 25 on the Ghostlight Records label. The album is produced by Gore and Joel Moss and features orchestrations by Doug Besterman, vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo, and musical direction and arrangements by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Stephen King, tells the story of a troubled teenage girl (Ranson) who seeks revenge after being bullied at school and tortured at home by her loving, religious fanatic mother (Mazzie).
