Judy Kuhn, Beth Malone Set for Public Lab Production of Jeanine Tesori-Lisa Kron Musical Fun Home

Fun Home, a new musical by Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron, will open the Public Theater’s Public Lab season, running October 17-November 4 under the direction of Sam Gold.

Based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, the work, set in Bechdel Funeral Home, follows Alison’s desire to come to terms with her father’s life and death by reconstructing their shared but unspoken bond.

Beth Malone stars as Alison, with Roberta Colindrez (Joan), Judy Kuhn (Helen), and Joel Perez (Roy).

The creative team includes David Zinn (scenic and costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), Kai Harada (sound design), Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg (video design), Andy Einhorn (musical direction), and David Neumann (choreography).
