Joan Allen to Star in Stephen King’s A Good Marriage

Tony Award winner Joan Allen will star in the film A Good Marriage, an adaptation of a Stephen King novella, to be directed by Peter Askin, according to The Hollywood Reporter. King has written the film’s screenplay.

The piece centers on a woman named Darcy who discovers the sinister and gruesome double life that her husband of 25 years has been living.

Allen won the Tony for Burn This, and her other stage credits include The Heidi Chronicles, Impressionism, and The Marriage of Bette and Boo. In addition, Allen is a three-time Oscar nominee for The Contender, The Crucible, and Nixon.

Askin recently directed Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, a musical written by King with music by John Mellencamp. His many stage credits include Show People, Trumbo, Mambo Mouth, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
