The starry Broadway revival of Ruth & Augustus Goetz’s The Heiress, starring Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain and Downton Abbey favorite Dan Stevens, will now begin previews at the Walter Kerr Theatre on October 6, one day earlier than previously announced. The production, directed by Moises Kaufman, will still open on November 1.

The full cast includes David Strathairn, Judith Ivey, Molly Camp, Kieran Campion, Virginia Kull, Dee Nelson, and Caitlin O’Connell.

The play centers on Chastain’s character, who is caught between her steely, controlling father (played by Strathairn) and a mysterious, handsome suitor (Stevens).

The design team will include Derek McLane (sets), Albert Wolsky (costumes), David Lander (lighting), Peter Golub (original music) and Leon Rothenberg (sound).
