Ballets with a Twist to Join Cyndi Lauper for True Colors Fund Benefit Performance

Ballets with a Twist, a next generation ballet company, is set to join music and culture icon Cyndi Lauper for a benefit performance of Ballets with a Twist’s Cocktail Hour, September 20 at 8pm at XL Cabaret.

The event, which will benefit Lauper’s True Colors Fund, is conceived and choreographed by Marilyn Klaus. It is a suite of dances, each inspired by a well-known beverage, which both reinvents ballet and pays respect to the rich creativity of cocktail culture.

Cocktail Hour features original music by Stephen Gaboury and costumes by Catherine Zehr

The True Colors Fund supports equality for all and aims to bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth homelessness.

Lauper appeared on Broadway in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of The Threepenny Opera. She has written the music & lyrics for the forthcoming Broadway musical Kinky Boots.
