Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Anika Noni Rose to Perform With Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre

Tony Award winners Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Anika Noni Rose will be among the guest vocalists appearing as part of the opening night benefit of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s 2012 New York City Center season on November 28, according to The New York Times. Oscar winner Mo’Nique will host the evening.

The season, which runs through December 30, will include a total of 19 works, including “From Before,” a dance piece created by Tony Award winner Garth Fagan, a new production of “Grace” by Ronald K. Brown, the world premieres of Kyle Abraham’s “Another Night,” and Robert Battle’s “Strange Humors,” as well as the company’s first production of Jiri Kylian’s “Petite Mort,” along with such classic Ailey works as “Revelations.”
