Ari Fliakos, Scott Shepherd, Kate Valk to Perform in The Wooster Group’s Hamlet

The Wooster Group will once again present a re-imagined version of Hamlet, October 24-November 11. Elizabeth LeCompte will direct the production at The Performing Garage.

In this version of the play, The Wooster Group has remixed Richard Burton’s 1964 Broadway production, which was recorded in live performance from 17 camera angles and edited into a film. The Wooster Group attempts to reverse the process, reconstructing a hypothetical theater piece from the fragmentary evidence of the edited film.

The cast will feature Scott Shepherd (Hamlet), Kate Valk (Gertrude and Ophelia), Ari Fliakos (Claudius, the Ghost, and the Gravedigger), Koosil-ja (the Nurse), Alessandro Magania (Bernardo and Voltemand), Greg Mehrten (Polonius and the Priest), Daniel Pettrow (Horatio, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, and the Player Queen), and Casey Spooner (Laertes, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, and the Player King).
