Wynton Marsalis at 50 Concert Set for October 13 Live From Lincoln Center Broadcast

PBS will broadcast Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Wynton Marsalis at 50 as part of its Live From Lincoln Center series on Thursday, October 13 at 8pm (check local listings).

The concert features Marsalis, along with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, revisiting some of his favorite compositions and arrangements while serving up some new ones. Special guests at the concert will include include tap dancer Jared Grimes, vocalist Gregory Porter, pianist Marcus Roberts, and violinist Mark O’Connor, along with Yacub Addy & Odadaa! and Damien Sneed & Chorale Le Chateau.

Marsalis has been artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center since the organization’s inception in 1987. In addition, he is an acclaimed jazz musician and composer, who won a Pulitzer Prize for Symphony No. 3, Swing Symphony.
