Steve Kazee, Cristin Milioti, et al. Set for NYTW’s Once

New York Theatre Workshop has announced complete casting for Once, which will begin performances November 15 in anticipation of an official opening on December 6. John Tiffany will direct the production, which will have musical staging by Steven Hoggett and musical direction by Martin Love.


With music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and a book by Enda Walsh, Once is.adapted from the 2007 Academy Award-winning film of the same name. The musical, which is set on the streets of Dublin, focuses on an Irish musician, known just as “Guy,” and a Czech immigrant, known just as “Girl.”

The company will feature Steve Kazee as the Guy and Cristin Milioti as the Girl, along with David Abeles, Claire Candela, Will Connolly, Elizabeth A. Davis, David Patrick Kelly, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Andy Taylor, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty, and J. Michael Zygo.

The creative team will include scenic and costume designer Bob Crowley, lighting designer Natasha Katz, and sound designer Clive Goodwin.
