Rosie Benton will join the previously reported Dulé Hill, Mekhi Phifer, Tracie Thoms, Ruben Santiago-Hudson and Condola Rashad to complete the cast of the Broadway production of Lydia R. Diamond’s Stick Fly, which will begin previews at the Cort Theatre on November 18, and open on December 8. Kenny Leon will direct the play, which has Alicia Keys as one of its producers.

Stick Fly is a portrait of an upper class African American family vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard and explores parental expectations, sibling rivalry, and issues of class and race.

The creative team will include David Gallo (scenic design), Reggie Ray (costume design), Beverly Emmons (lighting design) and Richard Fitzgerald / Sound Associates (sound design).

Benton, who will play Kimber, previously appeared in Stick Fly during its runs at Arena Stage and Huntington Theatre. Her previous Broadway credits include Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Accent on Youth, and she is currently appearing Off-Broadway in the Mint Theater’s Temporal Powers.
