PHOTO FLASH: Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Welcomes 500,000th Ticketholder

The Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, at the Foxwoods Theatre, welcomed its 500,000th ticketholder at the Wednesday, September 14 matinee performance.
Australian youngster Jordan Muir, along with parents Michelle and Rob Muir, was called up to the stage for a special recognition by cast member Patrick Page, who plays the Green Goblin. The boy was given a gigantic bouquet of balloons, in Spidey’s signature colors, as well as a stage prop he had been given backstage: a copy of The Daily Bugle.
The musical is inspired by over 40 years of Marvel comic books. It follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and must learn that with great powers comes great responsibility.
The production features creative consultation by Philip William McKinley, original direction by Julie Taymor, music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, and book co-written by Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
