New Georges has announced casting for Sylvan Oswald’s Nightlands, to run October 5-29 at HERE Arts Center. Tamilla Woodard will direct the production.

The memory play, loosely inspired by the playwright’s Jewish grandmother and the African-American woman who taught her astrology, centers on a group of characters living in North Philadelphia in the early 1960s.

The company will feature Rachel Leslie, Annie McNamara, Michael Milligan, Hubert Point-Du Jour, and Linda Marie Larson.

The creative team will include scenic designer Jim Findlay, costume designer Emily DeAngelis, lighting designer Stephen Arnold, and sound designer Hillary Charnas.
