Jonathan Solari’s The Love Letter You’ve Been Meaning to Write New York to Play 3LD

Jonathan Solari’s multi-media performance, The Love Letter You’ve Been Meaning to Write New York will be performed at 3LD Art & Technology Center, running September 21-October 16. Arnaud Spanos will perform the work.

The show, which combines video, movement, puppetry, live music and scripted performance, will the venue’s floor-to-ceiling windows to both frame the action, and invert the play-going perspective: the performance, featuring a company of 40, will unfold in the street outside of the theater, while audience members are inside of the space. The piece’s story focuses on a disillusioned young man on the day he has decided to leave New York for good.

Solari’s credits include directing Ricky Ian Gordon’s Green Sneakers as well as pieces for the Belarus Free Theatre and the Prague Playhouse. In addition, he was the founding artistic director of The Centrifuge, where he oversaw dozens of multi-disciplinary projects.
