Gavin Creel, Marc Kudisch, Kate Shindle, et al. Set for NYMF’s Next Broadway Sensation

Additional celebrity judges and contestants have been announced for the 2011 edition of NYMF’s Next Broadway Sensation Competition, part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and held at New World Stages with doors opening at 10:30pm.

Adam Kantor will host the week 2 installment on Saturday, September 24, with judges including Stafford Arima, Stephanie J. Block, and Marc Kudisch. Contestants will include Dawn Cantwell, Liliane Klein, Erin Lindsey Krom, Kristen Michelle, Jacqueline Nuzzo, Erik Sisco, Andre Softeland, Desean Stokes, Alexandrea Tocco, and Hernando Umana.

Week 1 contestants Rachel Flynn, Cecelia Ticktin, and Danielle Sacks will be joined by the winners of week 2 for the finale, to be held on Saturday, October 1. The finals week will feature songs by rising musical theatre writers Joe Iconis, Ryan Scott Oliver, and writing duo Jeff Thomson & Jordan Mann. Two finalists will be assigned to each writer, who will contribute at rehearsals and hand-pick songs from their catalogues for the contestants to perform.

The Finale’s celebrity guests will include Gavin Creel, Ken Davenport, Sarah Saltzberg, and Kate Shindle.

The winner, chosen based on audience voting, will receive a special solo concert, co-presented by NYMF and Grammy Award-winning producer Sh-K-Boom Records.
