Cliff Robertson Has Died

Oscar winner and Theater World Award winner Cliff Robertson has died at age 88, according to Variety.
Robertson won the Theatre World Award for the role of Val Xavier in the 1957 Broadway production of Tennesee Williams’ Orpheus Descending. His other Broadway appearances included Late Love, The Wisteria Trees, and one-week stint in Love Letters in 1990.
Robertson began his film career playing Alan Benson in the film version of William Inge’s Picnic. He won the Oscar in 1968 for Charly and his many other notable films included PT 109, in which he played John F. Kennedy, The Best Man, and the Spider-Man series, in which he played Ben Parker.
He also spent over five decades working in television, earning an Emmy Award in 1966 for The Game.
He was married to Cynthia Stone and actress Dina Merrill. Both unions ended in divorce. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie.
