Tony Curtis Dies at 85

Film legend and stage veteran Tony Curtis has died of cardiac arrest in Las Vegas at age 85, according to published reports.

Curtis studied acting in New York and began working with theater companies in the Catskills before finding success in Hollywood. His many films include Sweet Smell of Success, The Defiant Ones, Spartacus, The Great Race, and The Boston Strangler.

In 2002, he toured in a musical stage version of one of his greatest films, Some Like It Hot, this time playing the role of the lovestruck millionaire.

He is survived by his sixth wife, Jill VandenBerg, and five children from his previous marriages, including actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
