Rosie O’Donnell to Present My Life: Today at NYMF; Cast Announced

Renowned talk show host and Broadway veteran Rosie O’Donnell will present the original musical My Life: Today, at the Duke on 42nd Street, as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. She will be in attendance on opening night, October 5 at 8pm, and the show will play two more performances on October 6 at 1pm and 5pm.

In 2003, O’Donnell and Lori Klinger founded Rosie’s Theater Kids (formerly known as Rosie’s Broadway Kids), an organization devoted to using musical theatre to enrich the lives of New York City public school children who otherwise have limited exposure to the arts. Seven years later, their stories and experiences have been transformed into an original musical performed by the students themselves.

The show features a pop score by Steven Jamail and Sara Patterson with book by Patterson and co-directors, Lisa Danser and Jeff Statile. Additional material is by Zakiyyah Alexander. The production will feature h lighting design by Carl Wiemann, music direction by Jamail, orchestrations and music preparation by Britt Bonney.

The cast will include Daniel Estrella, Mary Dunkley, Doug Rosario Kirra Silver, Celeste Estrella, Kelly Chan, Joshua Ramos, Joshua Maldonado, Aria Lee Kayla DelaCruz, Anthony Santos, Taisha Lavarello, Kirra Silver, Kayla DelaCruz, Christina Lai, Ajee Haynes, and Tony Grunin.
