On Friday, September 10, Reeve Carney, who will star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the upcoming Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, premiered a new song from the musical, along with his band Carney, on Good Morning America.

The musical features music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge of the band U2, and a book by director Julie Taymor and Glen Berger. Drawing from more than 40 years of Marvel comic books for inspiration, the show spins a new take on the mythic tale of Peter Parker, a teenager whose unremarkable life in Queens is turned upside-down when he’s bitten by a genetically-altered spider and wakes up the next morning clinging to the ceiling.

The appearance on the program also featured interviews with Bono and The Edge, live via satellite from their European tour, as well as with Taymor. Cast members Jennifer Damiano (Mary Jane Watson) and Patrick Page (Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin) were also in attendance.
