On Wednesday, September 29, Tony Award winners James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave, and Boyd Gaines joined playwright Alfred Uhry and director David Esbjornson to talk to members of the press about the first Broadway production of Uhry’s Pulitzer-Prize winning drama, Driving Miss Daisy, which begins performances on October 7 at the Golden Theater, with an official opening set for October 25.

The show, which had its Off-Broadway debut in 1987, focuses on the relationship between Daisy Werthan, a 72-year-old Jewish widow living in mid-century Atlanta, and Hoke, her African-American chauffeur.

The film version, which starred Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman, won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
