Jessica Grove will appear alongside previously annonunced stars Candice Bergen, John McMartin, Sean Palmer, Bill Duell, John Windsor Cunningham, Carmen de Lavallade, Frederic Franklin, and Sondra Lee in a presentation of James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim’s never-before-staged musical Evening Primrose, originally broadcast on television in 1966. Tony Walton will direct the performance, which will benefit the St. George’s Society Anglo-American Cultural Awards, at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, on October 25.

The musical will feature orchestrations by Sean Patrick Flahaven, music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, sound design by Bernard Fox, and lighting design by Richard Pilbrow.

Following the presentation of Evening Primrose, there will be a gala dinner in the top of Hearst Tower featuring the talents of Alan Cumming and Jim Dale. The evening will also honor Walton and Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey, and award grants to Christine Jones, Alfie Barrett, and Young Playwrights Inc., the charity founded by Sondheim.

Grove, who will play Ella, is part of the Broadway company of A Little Night Music and recently appeared in the York Theatre’s Musicals in Mufti concert of Coco.
