La MaMa ETC and La Compagnie Irina Brook have announced casting for Waiting for the Dream, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream translated by Marie-Paule Ramo, to run in the La MaMa ETC First Floor Theatre November 3-7. Brook has directed the production, which has sound and lighting design by Thibault Ducros.

The piece uses a six person ensemble to play Shakespeare’s sparring lovers, warring fairies and would-be actors. The company will feature Jerry Di Giacomo, Hovnatan Avedikian, Gerald Papasian, Christian Pellisier, Augustin Ruhabura and Emmanuel Guillaume.

Brook, daughter of director Peter Brook, debuted her production in 2005 at the outdoors Festival Dedans-Dehors (The Outside-In Festival) in Bretigny-Sur-Orge near Paris, France. It has since toured internationally. The engagement at La MaMa will mark the piece’s U.S. premiere.
