Garry Hynes, Charlotte Moore, Ciaran O’Reilly, et al. Set for Irish Theatre Symposium September 25

A full list of participants has been announced for the Irish Theatre Symposium, held in conjunction with the 1st Irish Festival, at the Glucksman Ireland House NYU (1 Washington Mews) on Saturday, September 25.

As previously reported, the symposium is headlined by Tony Award-winning director Garry Hynes. She will be interviewed in a public session by Belinda McKeon from 4:30pm-5:15pm.

The symposium will also include three panels on different aspects of Irish theater. Economic Realities: Building Irish Theater in the US (10am – 11:30am), will be moderated by Scott Watson, and feature panelists George Heslin, Linda Murray, Tom Reing, Ciaran O’Reilly, Tara McCabe, Maedhbh McCullagh, andRob MacGoey. Tradition and Nostalgia: Contexts and Challenges for a New Generation (11:45am – 1:15pm) will be moderated by John Harrington and feature James Flannery, Tanya Dean, Gwen Orel, Gary Duggan, and Charlotte Moore. The Irish Brand (2:45pm-4:15pm) will be moderated by Annette Clancy and include Tania Banotti, Eugene Downes, Patrick Healy, Paula McFetridge, Nik Quaife, and Paul Meade.
