Broadway’s West Side Story to Close January 2

The Broadway revival of West Side Story will play its final performance at the Palace Theatre on January 2. The production will have played 748 performances.

With music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, West Side Story has been directed by librettist Arthur Laurents with the original Jerome Robbins choreography restaged by Joey McKneely.

As previously announced, Josefina Scaglione will play her final performance as Maria on September 19 and Sarah Amengual will assume the role on September 21. In addition, it has been announced that Natalie Cortez will continue to perform the role of Anita for the remainder of the Broadway run. Karen Olivo will not return to the production per doctor’s orders. Also, Matt Shingledecker will play the role of Tony on Wednesday evenings and Sunday matinees beginning October 13.

Jablonski, Marina Lazzaretto, Renée Marino, Matthew Marks, Mileyka Mateo, Skye Mattox, Kaitlin Mesh, Shina Ann Morris, Angelina Mullins, Kat Nejat, Patrick Ortiz, Pamela Otterson, Waldemar Quinones-Villanueva, Alex Ringler, Sam Rogers, Brendon Stimson, Tanairi Sade Vazquez and Michael Williams.
