Selections Announced for Tuneful Tuesdays Reading Series

Musical Mondays has announced its 2009-2010 lineup of musicals for its reading series, Tuneful Tuesdays at the Snapple Theater Center.

Persuasion or 7 Years Bad Sex (October 6), suggested by the novel by Jane Austen, has music by Selda Sahin, lyrics by Carl Danielsen and book by Pamela. Shauna Goodgold, Dan Bogart, Robin Higginbotham, and Rick Wesley will star, and Leah Bonvissuto will direct the concert reading.

Patrick Cook and Frederick Freyer’s Séance (November 17), a look at the birth of the spiritualism movement, will follow. In the new year, the company will revisit The Dirty Hippie Jam Band Project, which focuses on modern day hippies as they follow their favorite band across the country, has music by Daniel Israel, lyrics by Phoebe Kreutz, and book by Kruetz and Adam Mathias.

The final Tuneful Tuesdays offering for 2009-2010 will be a double bill of A Trip to the Ruins by Michael Ogborn and Now and Then, by Matt Landers and E. Miranda Moriera, in which a doo-wop band reunion leads to surprising consequences.
