Luis Argueta, Carmen Pelaez, et.al. Set for Othello Panel on October 4

Documentary filmmaker Luis Argueta and playwright Carmen Peláez, along with Mary Schmidt Campbell, Dean of the Tisch School of the Arts, and Majora Carter, founder of Sustainable South Bronx, will participate in a pre-performance discussion held in conjunction with the final performance Peter Sellars’ staging of Othello on October 4 at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

The discussion, entitled “Is It Possible? Othello in the Age of Obama will be moderated by dramaturg and frequent Sellars collaborator Dr. Avery T. Willis. The event is free and open to the public.

The production stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as Iago and John Ortiz as Othello, along with Julian Acosta (Roderigo), Gaius Charles (Duke of Venice), Jessica Chastain (Desdemona), Liza Colon-Zayas (Emilia), Saidah Arrika Ekulona (Bianca Montano), and LeRoy McClain (Cassio).
