Little Miss Sunshine and Like Water For Chocolate Musicals Set for Sundance Lab

William Finn and James Lapine’s musical adaptation of the movie Little Miss Sunshine and a new musical based on the novel Like Water For Chocolate, by Lila Downs, Paul R. Cohen and Quiara Alegria Hudes, have been selected as the projects that will be developed at the Sundance Institute Theatre Lab at White Oak, which runs October 25-November 7.

Like Water for Chocolate, which is based on Mexican author Laura Esquivel’s novel of the same name, is being conceived collaboratively with co-directors Ted Sperling and Jonathan Butterell and designer Michael Levine.
