Leslie Arden, Stafford Arima, Ken Davenport, Richard Matheson Set for Broadway-Bound Musical Somewhere in Time

The creative team has been announced for the forthcoming Broadway-bound musical Somewhere in Time, which based on the novel by Richard Matheson and the film version (which starred Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour). Matheson will collaborate with producer Ken Davenport on the book, Leslie Arden will write the music, and Stafford Arima has signed on as director.

Matheson’s book follows a contemporary man who uses hypnosis to send himself back through time in order to meet a woman with whom she has become obsessed. Matheson has written such works as The Shrinking Man, filmed as The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Night Stalker, and The Memoirs of Wild Bill Hickock. Additionally, he’s provided scripts for television, shows such as The Twilight Zone, Ghost Story, The Outer Limits, and Star Trek.

Arden’s previous musicals include The House of Martin Guerre, The Happy Prince, and The Boys Are Coming Home.

Arima’s directorial credits include The Tin Pan Alley Rag, Ragtime, The Princess and the Black-Eyed Pea, and Candide. He is currently represented Off-Broadway with Altar Boyz, which is produced by Davenport.
