Lemon Anderson’s County of Kings Returns September 29

Lemon Anderson’s solo show County of Kings will begin a six-week engagement at the Public Theater on September 29, with an official opening set for October 12.

The production, which was seen earlier this year as part of the Public’s Under the Radar Festival, is directed by Elise Thoron and is presented by Spike Lee, Culture Project, Steve Coleman, Jayson Jackson, and Tom Wirtshafter in association with the Public Theater.

Anderson’s coming-of-age tale, filled with hip-hop and urban poetry, recounts his troubled childhood and his eventual arrival on Broadway as part of Def Poetry Jam.
