Gustavo Dudamel’s Inaugural Gala Concert To Be Simulcast in Music Center Plaza

A simulcast of A Philharmonic conductor Gustavo Dudamel’s Inaugural Gala on October 8 will be offered in the Music Center Plaza. In addition to the simulcast, the event will also be broadcast throughout the US on PBS’ Great Performances.

As previously announced, Dudamel will lead the orchestra in the world premiere of John Adams’ “City Noir” and Mahler’s “Symphony No. 1.” Adams is best known for the operas Nixon in China and Doctor Atomic.

The Philharmonic’s 2009-2010 season will also include an appearance by Steve Martin, who will perform songs from his new album, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo, on October 28.
