Dominic Dromgoole’s Love’s Labour’s Lost Set for U.S. Tour

Dominic Dromgoole’s staging of William Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, first seen at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London in 2007, will launch a tour of the U.S. beginning in October at the Power Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, October 20-25. The production will play in New York from December 9-23 at the Michael Schimmel Center at Pace University.

The play centers on a quartet of noblemen who vow to swear off female companionship, but find their oaths are strained when they are visited by a princess and her entourage. The company includes Michelle Terry (Princess of France) and Trystan Gravelle (Berowne), along with Seroca Davis (Moth), Christopher Godwin (Holofernes), William Mannering (Longaville), Rhiannon Oliver (Jacquenetta), and Andrew Vincent (Dull). Joining them are Jade Anouka (Maria), Phil Cumbus (Ferdinand), Jack Farthing (Dumaine), Patrick Godfrey (Sir Nathaniel), Fergal McElherron (Costard), Thomasin Rand (Rosaline), Paul Ready (Don Armado), Siân Robins-Grace (Katherine), and Tom Stuart (Boyet). The creative team includes production designer Jonathan Fensom and composer Claire van Kampen.

Before arriving in the U.S., Love’s Labour’s Lost will play London’s Globe Theatre, September 25-October 10 at the Globe. Other U.S. tour stops include the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia (October 27-31), the Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley (November 4-8), the Mondavi Center in Davis, California (November 11), UC Santa Barbara (November 13-15), the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica (November 19-29) and MiFA in Holyoke, Massachusetts (December 3-5).
