Clown Bello Nock Returns for 2009 Edition of Big Apple Circus

The clown Bello Nock will return to the Big Apple Circus this year, running October 22-January 18 under the Big Top at Damrosch Park in Lincoln Center. Guillaume Dufresnoy will direct, and Michael Christensen will provide creative direction.

In addition to Bello, who will return after an absence of nine seasons, Big Apple Circus will feature the Curatolas, acrobats from Italy; Luciano Anastasini’s Pound Puppies; the Russian trampoline performers and trapeze artists, Aniskhin Troupe; and Regina Dobrovitskaya, performing an aerial act on silk ribbons. Additionally, this year’s edition will include an equestrian act performed by Christine Zerbini and Sultan Kumisbayev, juggling performed by Picaso Jr. and a contortionist sequence featuring the Long Twins.

The creative team will include Steve Smith (director, Bello is Back!), Michael Valenti (composer), Rob Slowik (music director), Vicki Davis (choreographer), Austin K. Sanderson (costume designer), Todd Rosenthal (scenic designer), Nick Borisjuk (sound designer), and Shannon January (lighting designer).
