Antoinette LaVecchia will star in her solo show, How to Be a Good Italian Daughter (In Spite of Myself), in an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement at Cherry Lane’s Studio Theatre, beginning October 3, with an opening set for October 12. Ted Sod will direct.

The play is a look at mothers and daughters, centering on the relationship between an immigrant Italian mother and her Americanized daughter. LaVecchia was seen last year opposite Emmy winner Daniel J. Travanti in A Touch of the Poet, and is starring in the FringeNYC production of Victoria and Frederick for President.

As previously announced, the Cherry Lane will also hostSolo Fest at the Pit, a fall festival of solo performances at the theater’s Cherry Pit location on Bank Street.
